Bamburi Cement Limited is committed to ensuring the physical well-being
of its employees and of other personnel working within the Company's
facilities.
It is the policy of Bamburi Cement Limited to:
- ensure that facilities are operated, maintained and, wherever
necessary, modified to provide a safe working environment;
- ensure that adequate safety rules and procedures are in place
and adhered to by all;
- ensure that proper instruction and training in the application
of safety rules and procedures is provided and that any hazard
that may exist or arise is well indicated;
- provide its employees with suitable and effective personal protective
equipment and ensure that such equipment is correctly used at
all times by its employees as well as by all other personnel working
within the facilities
- provide a prompt and adequate response system in case of accidents
or emergencies;
- investigate all accidents / incidents and take appropriate
corrective measures to avoid recurrence;
- integrate safety considerations into business decision-making
and job planning at all levels.
All employees will share the responsibility for implementation
of this policy:
- the Directors will coordinate the implementation of this policy
by ensuring that effective safety rules, procedures and support
programs are in place in their respective areas and that sufficient
resources are made available;
- the Safety Officer will guide and support the development and
implementation of safety programs and monitor their performance;
- Managers and Engineers will assure compliance with safety rules
and procedures and ensure prompt implementation of corrective
actions within their areas
- all employees will adhere to the applicable safety rules &
procedures and take all the necessary precautions in carrying
out their duties to avoid accidents.
Bamburi Cement Limited will demonstrate commitment to this policy
by fostering open and effective communication with all employees
and other interested parties and by ranking safety with other key
business objectives.
