Building Partnerships
An integral part of Bamburi Cement Ltd strategy is to build strong
and lasting relationships with our customers. This is in recognition
of the fact that in as much we provide quality cement products to
our customers, to service them better we require customer knowledge
them and the issues affecting them with regards to our products.
In order to know our customer better Bamburi has embarked on a
vigorous education campaign to Create Partnership with our customers.
Through the segmentation process we have identified two key markets
of cement that we refer to as Primary users and Secondary users.
The primary user constitutes the mason, foreman and contractors
while the secondary market is the consumer of the end product of
cement - the homebuilder, developer, the government and international
donor agencies. Our focus is to get close to the primary user who
influences purchase of cement
These fora allow us to interact with our customers and share value-added
information with them, ultimately achieving customer excellence
and building loyalty. The participants have the opportunity to have
a partnership that provides them with a pathway to success through
skill building and a means of distinguish themselves, and recognition
by Bamburi Cement Ltd.
Participants get information on good cement usage, products in
the market and issues relating to their core business construction.
The seminars are a source of information on the ground about our
product and services, which are continuously addressed hence enhancing
the relationship. In a questionnaire that was provided to get their
opinions, many describe the exercise as "excellent", "good
and educative", "very relevant", "very practical"
"informative".
To sum it all, contractor Kuldip Singh Soar says it was "a
very good idea to educate all the relevant people in the industry
and it also helps to understand the mutual difficulties".
